Kid-Friendly Activities

Children's Discovery Museum

Grab your youngsters and join us on Saturday, September 14th between 1:00 and 5:30 pm just east of the Gold’s Gym Entertainment Stage on the main Pumpkin Festival grounds for science and art activities with the Children’s Discovery Museum, sponsored by Morton McDonald's.  Create a play space and explore engineering principles first hand at the Museum’s Imagination Playground.  Or make a bracelet or key chain using beads that change color with UV rays - a great reminder to wear sunscreen.  Your art enthusiast will also enjoy creating their own garden stone at the Garden Stone Experience.  The Imagination Playground and the Make and Take Activities are free for children.  The Garden Stone Experience is $3 for one stone or $5 for two.  We hope to see you at this entertaining and educational station this year at the Morton Pumpkin Festival!

Julie K
Join us for the award winning children's singer Julie K on Friday, September 12th from 5:00 - 6:00 pm on the Main Entertainment Stage. Through her eclectic mix of playful melodies and family-friendly lyrics, kids and parents alike will be singing, dancing, and having fun!

Character Meet and Greets
Bring your kids to the front of the Entertainment Stage on Friday, September 12th from 4:00 - 5:00 pm to meet Elsa, Anna and Olaf from Frozen, Mike from Monsters, Inc. and Leonardo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  Photos are welcome!

Zoo Crew Face Painting
The children in your group won’t want to miss a visit to the Zoo Lady and her Zoo Crew for a unique face painting experience. Their tent is located on the Northwest side of the Pumpkin Business Expo, off Jefferson Street on the Main Festival Grounds.

Unique Twist Balloon Art
Nothing quite delights our youngest visitors like a balloon animal or pirate sword! Stop by The Unique Twist for a special balloon momento to take home from your festival visit. The Unique Twist balloon artists are located on the Northwest side of the Pumpkin Business Expo, off Jefferson Street on the Main Festival Grounds.
