The 2019 Morton Pumpkin Festival Pumpkin Princess Pageant will open the registration for the raffle to determine this year’s Pumpkin Princess Court on Friday, May 24 at 9:00 AM.
Entries for this year’s pageant will be accepted from 9:00 AM on Friday, May 24 to Tuesday, May 28 at 12:01 AM. Ten contestants will be randomly drawn by last year’s winner, Natasha Rose, on Thursday, May 30 at 4:00 PM on the Morton Pumpkin Festival’s Facebook page.
As in years past, the Pumpkin Princess Pageant will take place on the opening day of the Morton Pumpkin Festival, Wednesday, September 11. Before the pageant, contestants prepare a group dance routine and their talents and participate in a Princess Tea Party. Contestants will also ride on the Pumpkin Carriage in the Kiddie Parade on Thursday, September 12 and the Pumpkin Festival Parade on Saturday, September 14.
To be eligible, girls must be five or six years-old on the day of the pageant, must live in Morton or go to school in Morton, and may not have been a selected contestant for last year’s Pumpkin Princess Court. Registration for the raffle will be available online at mortonpumpkinfestival.org/pumpkin-princess-pageant. If drawn to participate, there is a $20 fee per contestant.
2019 Pumpkin Princess Pageant Chair Kate Carroll shared, “When I think of princesses and heroines, I think of adventurous, beautiful, kind, witty, intelligent women who always stand up for what they believe in. Every princess possesses magical qualities, traits, and talents. Through the Morton Pumpkin Festival Princess Pageant, we want to help each girl discover the princess inside of her and share it with the community of Morton.”
